During the holidays families tend to travel more often to visit family and friends. When you have pets and are leaving for an extended period of time there are only a few options, bring the pet with you, have a friend or family member look in on the pet or take your pet to a kennel. None of these choices sound ideal, taking the pet with you can be a hassle, having a family member or friend look after the pet just inconveniences the person (no matter how much they say it doesn't) and the pet kennel may cause unnecessary stress on your animal.
One alternative is hiring a pet sitting service to look after your pet and your home. Pet sitters are insured and medically trained should any emergency occur with your pet. Also, hiring an in-house sitter will allow your pet to stay on the same eating, potty breaks and playtime schedule.
